The local Government derives its internally generated revenue mainly from income taxes, hackney permits, market fees and tenement rates. The presence of two banking institutions in the Local Government area, viz, AFRIBANK, Ipetumodu and the Wema Bank, Edunabon respectively continue to boost the economic activities of the Local people.

Most of the industrial potentials are Agro-based, as a notable percentage of the people are farmers. Some are hunters and fishermen. Crops like yam, corn, cassava, citrus and cashew are produced in commercial quantities while cash crops like Kolanut, Cocoa and oil palm are also produced.
Another notable percentage most especially, woman are traders. Many also are artisans and the rest professional politicians and successful white Collar jobbers. In sum, this Local Government is fertile with egg heads in various fields of human endeavour who have recorded landmark achievements nationally and internationally.

The local Government area can also boast of four major markets, they are Obada Market at Ipetumodu, Asipa Market at Asipa, Orita-Moro Market at Moro and Akinlalu Market at Akinlalu. One remarkable feature of these markets in that they are all opened for buying and selling on every five days interval without one Coinciding with the other. To complement their roles in the social economic development of the area, are various cooperative societies. A pot-making factory is also at Wasinmi, Ipetumodu.
